Zero Waste

The focus of this project was orchids, but a major aspect of the design process was centered on sustainable design. Both pieces from this project are zero waste, meaning they are created from a piece of cloth with nothing discarded. Both are cut from rectangles of fabric and carefully manipulated to fit the body. Sustainability is also brought into the design through the dyeing of the fabric for the top. It is colored by a natural dye created from the skins of yellow onions.
